Luis Suarez is still proving his class
When Barcelona shelled out another eye-watering transfer fee to secure the services of Luis Suarez, especially in light of his actions at the World Cup, eyebrows were raised.
Such an outlay on a player that wouldn't be able to play in earnest until the end of October seemed a spectacularly short-sighted view from Barca's hierarchy.
The first sight of Suarez in Blaugrana actually came in a behind closed doors friendly against an Indonesian U19 XI, and the unflattering photos that dominated the following days media gave more ammunition to those convinced that the deal wasn't for the good of the club.
Clearly unfit, despite scoring Suarez wasn't anything like as sharp as the player we had seen at Liverpool and then in Brazil during the summer.
By the time of his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of October, the knives were already out.
