Zlatan Ibrahimovic spoke about Henry

The Sweden captain spoke about Henry to L’Equipe, saying: ”What Henry has achieved…Wow! He’s a fantastic athlete. He made such a difference on the pitch. I was lucky enough to be his team-mate at Barcelona, and to get to know him as a man, too. He was great as a player, and he was even greater as a man. He will leave a huge mark behind him.”

Ibrahimovic believes that Henry’s retirement is a loss for the sport, but he feels the 37-year-old’s achievements will go down in history.

He added: ”For football, I am sad he’s stopping. There will be an empty space. But at the same time, he is already part of the sport’s folklore, which is made up of cycles and generations. New players are already coming along. That’s football.”
